Although today we live in a more equal society, most senior executive jobs are occupied by men.

However, as the WSJ recently reported, there are a growing number of  big company CEOs who are also mothers.

The article highlights the cases of a number of female senior executives who not only hold down the most difficult job in the world, being CEO, but also are mothers too. Ursula Burns was only the twenty-second women to lead a Fortune 500 organisation when she became CEO at Xerox, in the summer of 2009. She is but one example of a very senior female executive who did not have to give up her career in order to have a family life.

In fact, as we speak, twelve Fortune 500 CEOs are female. Interestingly, eleven of them are also mothers.

The original article, from the Wall St Journal, on job hunting honesty was published in April 2010.
